People have recognized that working out is really important to their overall health. Of course, doctors have been telling people that they need to exercise more for as long as people have been getting physicals. Working out is important. But it can be complicated for a beginner. There’s so many exercises out there and many of them require different equipment to pull them off correctly. The good news is that there’s lots of information and help for beginners who are excited to start working out. By purchasing some basic beginner gear, they can get excellent workouts and slowly figure out what they need to do for their own health and workout routine. This article will provide some basic information about beginner workout gear. Hopefully it will be a nice beginner piece to help some people who are ready to workout to get in there and get going!

1 - Resistance Bands

This is a simple piece of gear that most people should have. Resistance bands can be used in a wide number of different exercises to increase the difficulty as needed. Resistance bands can help people with form as they try out some beginner exercises. What’s great is they aren’t particularly expensive either. A good set will have handles that can snap onto different strengths of bands.

2 - Kettlebells

These are a great option for beginners who want to work out at home instead of going to the gym. Kettlebells are relatively small and they aren’t too expensive. Exercises for kettlebells are generally pretty simple, but can be incredibly effective, especially with squats. Kettlebells are super durable and can basically last forever once you get them, so they are a good option for any home gym.

3 - Jump Rope

If you can find a high quality jump rope, it’s perfect for cardio at home. Jumping rope is one of the simplest exercises and helps build muscle endurance as well as any exercise you can hope to do. Make sure that you get a jump rope of the correct length so that you aren’t smashing the ceiling or using poor form when you’re working out. It’s also good to have a spare, but that’s no problem considering they are really inexpensive.

4 - Adjustable Bench

An adjustable bench is perfect for people who are using free weight. You can move it to various positions including flat or inclined to allow you to get proper form in a wide variety of exercises. Many exercises are difficult without a proper seated position and the adjustable bench gives you that option, as well as being horizontal or having a foot up. It’s just a versatile and very useful piece of gear for any beginner.

5  - Pull Up Bar

There’s not a whole lot that needs to be coached when it comes to doing a pull up. That’s what makes it such a good exercise for beginners. Having a pull up bar for the home is a great option. Typically you want to choose one that can hang between the door frame. Make sure that you install and set it up correctly. There’s nothing worse than doing a pull up and suddenly finding yourself plummeting to the ground.

6 - Large Mirror

Okay, this may not be considered a traditional piece of workout gear, but it’s absolutely necessary for a beginner. Many exercises are wonderful as long as you keep the correct form, but are next to useless if you’re cheating on that form. It can be hard to recognize as a beginner when you are deviating from form if you can’t see yourself performing the exercise. Getting a large mirror and setting it up in your workout space can be really beneficial.
